Jamaica’s rising star Kalil Francis competes in UCI Road World Championship in Canada

Jamaica’s rising junior cyclist, Kalil Francis, is now in Montreal, Canada, where he is completing his final preparations and warm-up ahead of the start of the 2026 UCI Road World Cycling Championships, which pedal off tomorrow morning.
Francis is the lone Jamaican representative at the three-day Championships, which are expected to feature almost 1,000 riders from 100 countries.
Earlier this year, Francis competed in the Harlem Skyscraper Classic in New York, where he secured a notable second-place finish. He also competed in the Elgin Cycling Classic in Chicago, where he won the 20-mile race in the Men’s Category 3 section while representing the Philly Bike Expo.
Francis is being guided by three-time Olympic representative and elite cycling coach Peter Aldridge.
