Jamaica’s murder tally has surpassed the 200 mark.
This as 201 people were killed in the country up to Saturday, April 12.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, this is 116 fewer than the 317 murders recorded in the same period last year.
The St. Andrew South Division had the highest number of murders with 29 followed by St. Catherine South with 19.
Trelawny and St. Elizabeth saw the lowest number of murders with 3 each.
The JCF is also reporting that cases of rape declined by 69 and robberies by 16.
Meanwhile, break-ins increased by 62.
