Jamaica’s murder tally is nearing the 600 mark.
According to the latest police data, 591 murders were recorded up to Sunday November 16.
This is 412 fewer than the 1,003 homicides recorded in the same period last year.
So far this year, St. Andrew South has recorded the most murders with 70, followed by St. Catherine North with 55.
Portland recorded the least with 9, followed by Trelawny with 11.
In the meantime, cases of rape are down by 104.
While robberies increased by 57 and break-ins by 161.
