Jamaica’s murder tally is nearing the 200 mark.
This as, 191 people were killed in the country up to Saturday April 5.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, this is 107 fewer than the 298 murders recorded in the same period last year.
The St. Andrew South Division had the highest number of murders with 29, followed by St. Catherine South with 18.
Trelawny and St. Elizabeth saw the lowest number of murders with 3 each.
The JCF is also reporting that cases of rape declined by 74 and robberies by 15.
Meanwhile, break-ins increased by 62.
