Jamaica’s men’s hockey team qualifies for Men’s Hockey 5’s World Cup
Jamaica’s men’s hockey team have qualified for the Men’s Hockey 5’s World cup in Muscat, Oman next year.
This after rolling past Paraguay 5-2 in yesterday’s Pan American Cup third-place playoff game at the Mona Hockey field.
A hatrick from Nickoy Stephenson and a double strike from Shemar Gordon gave Jamaica the win and secured qualification to the tournament that will be played in January.
Paraguay’s consolation strikes came in the 10th minute from Elias Vera and in the 13th through Guillermo Benitez.
Jamaica’s women’s team missed out on advancing to the World Cup, as they were earlier eliminated .
