Jamaica’s economy needs to grow at a faster pace for gov’t to address magnitude of issues facing the nation – Holness
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says Jamaica’s economy will need to grow at a faster pace, for government to address the magnitude of issues facing the nation.
Mr. Holness said 1.9% economic growth is not enough to treat with Jamaica’s problems.
He said the recent local government election has shown the need for the government to rethink its strategy.
Speaking in his capacity as Minister with responsibility for the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ), Mr. Holness noted that the entity is working to increase the pace of growth in the country.
He encouraged small business owners to apply to the DBJ to secure grants that will help grow their businesses and by extension the economy.
