Jamaicans urged to brace for increased rainfall
Jamaicans are being urged to brace for increased rainfall, starting today (June 28).
This as a fast-moving tropical wave across the eastern Caribbean Sea is expected to move across the island this afternoon.
Satellite imagery indicates that there is a large area of cloudiness with showers and thunderstorms associated with this system.
The forecast is for morning showers and isolated thunderstorms across eastern parishes, with afternoon through evening showers and thunderstorms across most parishes, and early nighttime showers mainly across western parishes.
Gusty winds are also expected.
Fishers and other marine interests, especially those inshore and offshore the south coast, should exercise caution as sea conditions will deteriorate in the vicinity of showers, thunderstorms, and strong winds.
