As the final hours of 2024 tick away, Jamaicans across the island are making plans to ring in the new year in style. 

For some, it’s about reconnecting with family and friends over a meal, while others are preparing to embrace the vibrant street parties and celebrations set to take place tonight. 

A quieter few see the transition as an opportunity for reflection and personal growth. 

From fireworks displays to church services, the variety of traditions speaks to the island’s dynamic culture and individuality.

Irie FM News spoke to several Jamaicans, who shared how they will be ringing in the new year.

One citizen said she will be spending some quality time with her family.  

In contrast, Odean shared that he is looking forward to the high-energy celebrations with his friends. 

Meanwhile, Adrian shared that this year’s celebration will take on a more reserved tone.
