Jamaican sworn in as 4th President of the Caribbean Court of Justice
Jamaican Mr Justice Winston Anderson was sworn in as the fourth President of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) yesterday.
The ceremony was held during the 49th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM.
Governor-General, Sir Patrick Allen, presided over the ceremony held at the Jewel Grande Resort in Montego Bay, St. James.
He said that the Jamaican brings to the office a distinguished record of scholarship, integrity and unwavering commitment to the ideals of justice.
Justice Anderson hails from St. Ann and holds degrees from the University of the West Indies and Cambridge University in England.
He expressed hope that under his tenure, more countries will become full members of the court.
In the meantime, CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr. Carla Barnett, expressed confidence in Justice Anderson’s leadership of the CCJ
