Jamaican Jacqueline Williams set  to  create  history  at  the  upcoming ICC  Women’s  T20  World  Cup

Jamaican  umpire  Jacqueline Williams is  set  to  create  history  at  the  upcoming ICC  Women’s  T20  World  Cup  next month  in  England .

Williams  will reach  the  significant  milestone  of  officiating  in  five ICC  World  Cups   as  she  is  listed  on  the Emirates ICC International panel of match officials that will be used during the upcoming ICC women’s t20 World Cup 2026.

Williams  along  with  Kim Cotton of  New  Zealand   have overseen 19 matches each on this stage,  while Australian official Claire Polosak is the most experienced as she gets ready for her sixth appearance at the tournament having umpired 22 matches previously.

In  the  meantime  this  will be the third straight edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup that will feature an all-female match official panel  with 14 umpires and four match referees named  for  the 33 fixtures at the T20 World Cup. 

Williams who hails  from Western  Jamaica  is  the first female umpire from the West Indies to officiate in an ICC Women’s One  Day International  Cricket World Cup final.

She also  created  history  as the first female umpire to officiate at a men’s Under 19 Cricket World Cup, and served as the fourth umpire for the final.
