Jamaican gospel singers dominate nominations in the 2025 Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards

Kevin Downswell, Glacia Robinson, Chevelle Franklyn and Carlene Davis are among the standout nominees announced recently in the 2025 Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards.

Downswell leads the nominations, receiving fifteen nods in several categories, Glacia Robinson is vying for thirteen awards, while Carlene Davis and Chevelle Franklyn were nominated for six awards each.

In an Instagram post, Glacia Robinson congratulated fellow nominees from across the world and expressed gratitude to the organization for the recognition.

Other Jamaican gospel artistes vying for awards include, Canadian-based Jamaican K Anthony, Wayne Stoddart, Carey Sayles, The Foster Triplets and Jodi Ann Myers.

Now in its 29th year, the Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards were established to recognize outstanding achievement in Bahamian Gospel Music from 1996 to 2000.

In the year 2000 the awards were expanded to include eight Caribbean Gospel categories. The awards evolved even further in 2002 to incorporate other styles of Caribbean Gospel Music and were subsequently rebranded the Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards, with awards being distributed in over forty categories. This year’s staging will be held on July 27 in Bahamas.
