Jamaican-born nurse Sandra Lindsay among Americans to receive Presidential Medal of Freedom
Jamaican-born nurse Sandra Lindsay is among seventeen Americans named by President Joe Biden to be recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Lindsay who served on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic response was the first American to receive a COVID-19 vaccine outside of clinical trials and is a prominent advocate for vaccines and mental health for health care workers.
Lindsay will receive the award alongside actor Denzel Washington and former US Senator, John McCain.
