By Markelia Rumble
Agriculture Minister Floyd Green has announced that blockchain technology will soon be used to ensure customers can identify authentic Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.
Mr. Green explained that the goal is to protect the brand and ensure consumers receive genuine products rather than counterfeit versions.
He noted that each batch of Blue Mountain coffee will have a QR code attached, allowing customers to scan the code to authenticate the product.
The Agriculture Minister added that this technology will also contribute to environmental preservation.
