Jamaica to make historic debut at IFAF Americas Flag Football Continental Championships
Jamaica’s men’s and women’s flag football teams are set to make history this weekend as they prepare to debut at the IFAF Americas Flag Football Continental Championships in Panama.
The three-day tournament kicks off tomorrow (Friday) and runs until Sunday, bringing together a combined 20 teams—9 women’s and 11 men’s squads—from across North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
For the men, Jamaica has been drawn in Group B and will open their campaign on Friday at 9:15 a.m. Jamaica time against Chile, before facing El Salvador at 1:00 p.m. On Saturday, they will take on hosts Panama at 8:00 a.m. and Argentina at 11:45 a.m.
The women’s team will bow into action against Colombia at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, before lining up against Panama at 3:30 p.m. Their campaign continues on Saturday with two tough assignments: World Champions United States at 10:30 a.m. and Brazil at 2:15 p.m.
The IFAF Americas Continental Championships serve as the official qualifier for the 2026 IFAF World Championships in Germany.
