Jamaica to face Uruguay in 2026 Davis Cup/World Group Two playoff this weekend

Jamaica’s five member all male tennis team will be pushing to secure a win this weekend, when they clash with South American rivals Uruguay on Saturday and Sunday, in the 2026 Davis Cup/World Group Two Playoff at the Liguanea club in New Kingston.

The team will be led by top competitor and 463rd ATP ranked player Blaise Bicknell and veteran Rowland “Randy” Phillips along with Daniel Azar and John Chin.

The Jamaican team will be guided by non-playing captain Dominic Pagon, as they aim for promotion on home soil.

In February 2025, Jamaica faced New Zealand in World Group Two Round 1 action, suffering a close 3-2 defeat, to set up the challenge against Uruguay this weekend.

Jamaica has never advanced to World Group one or the Eiite World Group.

Action serves off at 11 am each day.
