Jamaica Teachers’ Association describes late Jessie Ripoll Principal as “stalwart in the education sector”

The Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) says the tragic death of Principal of the Jessie Ripoll Primary School O’Neil Stevens has left the education sector in shock.

The principal and his wife, Camesha Lindsay-Stevens were killed in a motor vehicle crash in the United States.

JTA President, Dr. Mark Smith described the late principal as a true stalwart in the sector and a friend.

Dr. Smith noted that the couple’s children were injured in the crash, and remain hospitalised in serious condition.

Acknowledging that the tragedy will have some disruptive impact on the school, the JTA President said the institution’s board will do what is necessary to ensure stability.
