The decisive goal came in the 17th minute, when Arnett Gardens talisman Warner Brown capitalized on a set-piece opportunity to put Jamaica ahead. Despite dominating possession and registering more shots on goal throughout the match, the Reggae Boyz were unable to break down the resilient BVI defense for the remainder of the game.

With the result, Jamaica has officially qualified for the third round of Concacaf World Cup qualifying — an important milestone on their road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The win puts Jamaica on 9 points in Group E, maintaining their second-place position behind group leaders Guatemala, who also sit on 9 points but hold a superior goal difference following a 4-2 win over the Dominican Republic.
