Jamaica Scorpions set to begin Regional Four-Day Championship campaign against Windward Islands Volcanoes
The Jamaica Scorpions are gearing up to open their 2025 Cricket West Indies Regional Four-Day Championship campaign on a high note as they prepare to face the Windward Islands Volcanoes in the opening round of the competition at Arnos Vale in St. Vincent on Wednesday.
The Scorpions, led by captain John Campbell and vice-captain Kirk McKenzie, are aiming for a strong start to the tournament. The team features an exciting blend of experience and youth, with a notable inclusion in West Indies all-rounder Odean Smith, who is making his return to the squad for the first time in eight years.
The 13-man squad also boasts a number of promising debutantes including schoolboy Tamarie Redwood, wicket-keeper Daniel Beckford, top-order batter Odain McCatty, and Super50 Cup centurion Javell Glenn.
The team includes a mix of seasoned players and emerging talent with Brad Barnes, Jermaine Blackwood, Jeavor Royal, Carlos Brown, Gordon Bryan and Marquino Mindley rounding out the team.

Meanwhile, in other games across the tournament, Barbados Pride will face the defending champions Guyana Harpy Eagles away at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence. The West Indies Academy will take on the Leeward Islands Hurricanes at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, and Trinidad and Tobago Red Force will square off against Combined Campuses and Colleges at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
The tournament winner will walk away with a grand prize of US $250,000, while the runners-up will receive US $100,000.
