The opening fixture, which was scheduled to kick off at 6:00 PM, featured Tivoli Gardens and Montego Bay United (Mobay United), but the game faced an unexpected interruption shortly after the 36th minute due to lighting concerns.

Play began on time, but when the stadium lights were switched on, only some of the bulbs illuminated, leaving the field in partially dim conditions. Despite efforts to resolve the issue, the lighting malfunction persisted, prompting the match officials to pause the game. At the time of the stoppage, the score was locked in a goalless stalemate.

After an extended break with no immediate resolution to the lighting problems, the decision was made to postpone the match. This left fans and players in anticipation of what would come next, with the second quarterfinal fixture between Portmore United and the defending champions, Cavalier, set to follow at 8:30 PM. However, due to the delay, both matches were called off for the night.

Rescheduled Matches Friday at Stadium East

The JPL organizers quickly moved to reschedule both quarterfinal fixtures. The Tivoli Gardens vs. Montego Bay United match will continue from where it was left off, with the game resuming at the 36th-minute mark on Friday, starting at 6:00 PM. The second quarterfinal match between Portmore United and Cavalier will follow at 8:00 PM.

The return leg matches will be contested at Sabina Park on Monday.

The winners on aggregate will face Mount Pleasant and Arnett Gardens in the semifinals.
