Jamaica must enforce death penalty for persons who kill children – Dr. Longmore
Government Senator Dr. Sapphire Longmore has reiterated her call for child murderers to face the harshest possible penalty.
In her State of the Nation address in the senate recently, the Senator noted the brutal murder of eight-year-old Danielle Rowe, who was abducted and had her throat slashed in 2023.
Dr. Longmore said she still finds it hard to speak about the incident.
She said the death penalty is still on the books and should be used to send a strong signal to potential child killers.
She lamented that Danielle’s family and friends will likely be forced to live with the trauma of her untimely death, without having access to the mental health resources that they need.
