Jamaica Customs and JCF sign MOU granting Customs direct access to INTERPOL’s information system
The Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) and the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) granting customs direct access to INTERPOL’s information system.
The International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) is an independent inter-governmental organization responsible for ensuring and promoting mutual assistance between all police authorities in different countries.
The MOU signing took place at the Jamaica Customs Head Office in Downtown, Kingston this morning (July 25).
The signatories are Commissioner of Customs, Velma Ricketts Walker and Commissioner of Police, Major General Antony Anderson.
Speaking at the event, the Police Commissioner said the agreement will bolster the JCA’s intelligence and data gathering.
He said it will also improve analytical capabilities.
