Jamaica College, JC says its treating as urgent and serious, the physical assault of a student by school mates, which was captured in a now viral video.
In a statement today, the school states that it’s aware of the video which depicted some of its students in what it called a disturbing incident.
JC says it began an investigation on Saturday April 18, when the matter was brought to its attention.
Meantime, the Education Ministry also directed an immediate investigation following the emergence of what it also called a disturbing video showing students in school uniform, violently physically assaulting a fellow student.
Education Minster Dr. Dana Morris Dixon says every resource available will be utilized to ensure those responsible face the consequences.
She adds that the Ministry is committed to creating safe learning environments for students to thrive without being fearful.
Dr. Morris Dixon says the support of parents and community members is needed to prevent such incidents.
