Jamaica begins qualification for 2027 FIBA World Cup next Thursday

The Jamaica male basketballers will begin their quest to qualify for the 2027 FIBA World Cup next Thursday November 27.

This when they face Puerto Rico at the San Juan Coliseo Roberto Clemente Arena in Puerto Rico, in game one of the two games fiba basketball World Cup 2027 Group B’ qualifiers.

Both countries will face off in game two on December 1 at the same venue.

Group B’ also features Canada and Bahamas who Jamaica will face in the next window in 2026.

The Jam -Rockerz will host Bahamas and Canada at home in February as outlined by the FIBA calendar, before the Jamaicans travel to face both countries away next July

In the meantime, Jamaica advanced to this round, after finishing second in the FIBA pre-qualifiers behind host Mexico back in the summer.

The Jam Rockerz who defeated Barbados and Costa Rica in the pre-qualifiers lost 61-90 to Mexico in the grand-finale.
