Jada Kingdom shares special moment with Beres Hammond
Dancehall sensation, Jada Kingdom had a fan-girl moment recently after finally meeting reggae icon Beres Hammond and seeing him perform for the first time.
Taking to social media, Jada shared a video of the encounter, which happened at City Splash Festival in the UK on Monday during Bank Holiday.
“I was so nervous,” Jada admitted in the caption, as fans flooded the comments celebrating the historic link-up between two generations of Jamaican music.
In the clip, Beres Hammond, also known as “The Chairman of the Board” warmly interacted with Jada before encouraging her to sing. Without hesitation, Jada delivered the hook from Beres’s popular 1994 classic, Step Aside.
The moment quickly gained traction online, with fans praising Jada kingdom for showing respect to one of reggae’s greatest voices while also holding her own in his presence.
City Splash, which celebrates Caribbean and African music and culture in the UK, featured performances from several top reggae and dancehall acts including Aidonia, Elephant Man, Gyptian, Queen Ifrica, Jada Kingdom among others with Beres Hammond as the headliner.
