Island’s infirmaries to recommence accepting new residents starting July 1
Starting July 1, the island’s infirmaries will recommence accepting new residents.
New admissions were suspended at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, as a precautionary measure to keep residents safe.
Speaking Friday in St James, Local Government minister Desmond Mckenzie said the list of prospective admissions grew to over 450 people during the period.
Mr Mckenzie explained, however, that there are some conditions which residents must meet.
These include being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
The minister added that visits to the facility will still be limited, in an effort to protect those within the infirmaries.
