IRIE FM’s Myesha Broadie cops 2024 PMNYAE in Journalism
IRIE FM’s multi award winning journalist, Myesha Broadie has received the 2024 Prime Minister’s National Youth Award for Excellence in Journalism.
She won the award at yesterday’s staging of the event at Jamaica House.
The senior journalist was among 43 awardees who were recognized for their outstanding work in their respective fields.
Over the years Ms. Broadie has broken compelling human-interest stories that have directly resulted in real-world change.
Hosts Javaughn Keyes and Debbie Bissoon announced her victory.
Speaking on Irie FM’s Running Africa Programme with host Kabu Maat Kheru this morning Ms Broadie said she was elated.
She also shed light on one of her human interest stories which resulted in a family receiving a home in Clarendon.
She expressed hope to continue highlighting the stories of the less fortunate.
The Prime Minister’s National Youth Award is the highest national honour bestowed on Jamaicans between the ages of 15 and 29 years.
Other notable award recipients are Alana Reid, Nathaniel Bailey and Kemar Richards for Sports, Evert ‘Evy’ Johnson and Daindra Harrison for New Media and Kristina Kelly for Special Abilities.
