IPROBE launches investigation to determine how video of murder-accused Rushane Barnett was leaked to the public last evening
The Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau has launched a probe to determine how a video of murder-accused Rushane Barnett was leaked to the public last evening (July 1).
Barnett, who is charged with the murder of five of his family members in Cocoa Piece, Clarendon last week, was recorded being questioned and visually examined by Former Chairman of the South East Regional Health Authority, Dr. Andrei Cooke.
The video has since been circulating on social media.
Speaking with IRIE FM news, his court-appointed lawyer Tameka Harris says she appreciates the police investigation, as she has several concerns, including, if the video should have been shown to the public.
She also notes that Barnett’s examination should have been kept private, under the confidentiality agreement between him and the medical doctor.
