IOC President Thomas Bach, says he is not afraid of Ukraine boycott threat
The president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, says he is not afraid of a boycott of the 2024 Olympic Games by Ukraine.
Ukraine who has been under Russian attack since February last year, has strongly disagreed with the position of the IOC to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete in Paris next year, and has since threatened to Boycott.
However, Bach reiterated his call for athletes from russia and belarus to be allowed to take part in the paris games, stating that the decision on the admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus will not change the course of the armed conflict.
Russian and Belarusian athletes will be allowed to take part in the 2024 Olympic Games on a neutral basis, however, this only applies to individual events as the athletes themselves must meet certain criteria.
