Investors encouraged to remain optimistic about Jamaica’s economic and market prospects despite hurricane’s devastation

Investors are being encouraged to remain optimistic about Jamaica’s economic and market prospects, despite the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa. 

In spite of the scale of the damage, Economist, Dr. Damien King says the country’s strong macro-economic fundamentals remain intact and the long-term outlook for capital markets continues to be positive.

Speaking at a recent VM Wealth Webinar on the economic implications of the Category 5 hurricane, Dr. King explained that its impact, while severe, should be understood as a temporary interruption, rather than a structural shift.
