International Reggae Day 2025 Set to Unite the World with One Love. One Voice. One Day theme

The pulse of reggae will echo across continents as over 30 countries are celebrating International Reggae Day (IRD) today July 1.

Being observed under the unifying theme: One Love, One Voice, One Day and now in its 31st year, the global event honours the powerful legacy of reggae music and its roots in Jamaica, spotlighting its role as a force for unity, truth, and cultural pride.

Founded by Andrea Davis, IRD has evolved from a local celebration to a worldwide movement. Reggae lovers from countries including Argentina, India, Zambia, the UK, and Mexico joined in a synchronized celebration of the day which was highlighted by the IRD Pull Up where audiences played two reggae anthems: Bob Marley’s One Love and Dennis Brown’s Love & Hate.

Additionally, venues such as the Bob Marley Museum, Edna Manley College, and the Kingston Night Market hosted a series of forums, panels, and cultural showcases.

In the UK, the Harlesden Bassline collective staged immersive events including the Roots Rock Reggae Walk and a community discussion at Harlesden Library. Meanwhile, PullItUp Radio in Mexico will highlight 20 local reggae artists.
