The Jamaica Inn Foundation 6th Annual Swim for the Sanctuary takes place on November 7, 2026, at White River House / Shaw Park Beach in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

Races typically begin in the morning around 7:30 a.m. All proceeds from the swim will benefit the White River Fish Sanctuary, supporting 370 acres of marine conservation, coral reef restoration, and local community education.

Some of the event’s categories and distances include: Open-Water Swims: 500m, 1K, 3K, and 5K races, a 4x100m relay, and other activities including paddle board races and water polo demonstrations.

The White River Fish Sanctuary is committed to honouring the responsibility we have to care for marine life. Whether it’s through reef restoration, public education, or holding those who harm the environment accountable, they are dedicated to change.

What started as a collaboration between hoteliers, activists, and local fishermen has transformed into a community of passionate individuals dedicated to preserving our aquatic environment.

The White River Fish Sanctuary now provides a haven for fish to produce millions of offspring in a 150-hectare “no-take” zone. These waters stretch from Prospect Plantation in St. Mary to Carib/Hermosa Cove in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, providing a secure habitat for aquatic life to thrive.

Some of the sponsors of this year’s Swim for the Sanctuary include Petrojam, Scotiabank Life Insurance, Couples Resorts, Wisynco Limited, Acado Jamaica, and Guardsman.
