Information Minister says recent talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio did not include discussions about China’s influence in Jamaica
Information Minister, Dr. Dana Morris Dixon, says recent talks with United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio did not include discussions about China’s influence in Jamaica.
Dr. Morris Dixon made the statement during a post-Cabinet press briefing this morning, following questions by reporters about whether the U.S. has tried to reduce China’s influence on the island.
She explained that when Mr. Rubio visited the country in March, meeting discussions included how Jamaica could position itself as a nearshore destination for the U.S., but nothing regarding the East Asia country.
