Information Minister assures no decision will be made on amendments to IC Act until oversight committee concludes deliberations
Information Minister Dr Dana Morris Dixon has urged persons concerned about the situation involving Prime Minister Andrew Holness and the Integrity Commission to let the process run its course.
She was responding to questions from reporters during today’s post-Cabinet press briefing.
Among the concerns are fears that the Commission will be made less effective upon completion of a proposed review, especially since Mr. Holness has filed a lawsuit against the Commission seeking certain declarations.
Dr Morris Dixon pointed out that Parliament’s Joint Select Committee is examining the law for the Commission.
She said it is the committee that will make recommendations for changes.
