Former Jamaican middle distance star Inez Turner of Fayetteville State University emerged as the CIAA women’s coach of the year at the 2024 CIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the JDL fast track.

Turner, at the helm of Fayetteville State University’s women’s track and field team, took to social media to express her gratitude for yet another championship victory.

The Fayetteville State University Women’s team, known affectionately as the Lady Broncos, secured their fourth championship in five seasons, amassing an impressive 138 points.

Stellar performances from athletes like M’smyra Seward, who clinched the women’s field athlete of the year title with a remarkable long jump of 5.89 meters, contributed to the team’s success. notable victories by Irene Jeptoo in the 1-mile event and Nia Gibson in the 3,000 meters further solidified their dominance.

The championship victory underscored Turner’s exceptional coaching abilities, affirming her status as a leader in her field.
