Industry legends unite in concert to support Lt. Stitchie
Reggae and dancehall legends will unite to perform at a benefit concert in support of their ailing colleague Lieutenant Stitchie.
The event being put on by Caribbean Sunshine Bakery will see Third World, Mr Vegas, Marion Hall, Ernie Smith, Ed Robinson, Lady G among others backed by Code Red band performing to raise funds for the Reggae veteran on February 22 at the Majestic Event Centre in Orlando Florida.
Meanwhile, in a Music News interview today, Sophia Laing, wife of Lieutenant Stitchie, said the ailing reggae legend continues to improve daily and is responding well to treatment.
Last September, news surfaced that Lieutenant Stitchie had suffered a brain haemorrhage. A GoFundMe campaign was subsequently launched to raise funds to assist him.
Since then, fellow entertainers, Bounty Killer and Shaggy, through the Bounty Killer Foundation, teamed up to donate ten thousand USD towards his medical expenses.
More recently, the fundraising effort to assist the ailing dancehall veteran received additional boosts with entertainer Richie Stephens donating proceeds amounting to $5000 from a benefit concert held in Chicago. Additionally, Sterling Gospel Music Awards and members of the Jamaica Gospel Music Industry donated a combined total of $750,000 towards Stitchie’s rehabilitative care.
