Independent candidate David Anderson not daunted by defeat in NE St. Ann by-election
Independent candidate David Anderson who was defeated in yesterday’s by-election in St. Ann North East says he is not daunted by the results.
Mr. Anderson received 222 votes, 4,616 fewer than the Jamaica Labour Party’s Matthew Samuda.
Mr. Samuda won with 4,838 votes.
The other candidate, Chase Neil of the United Independent’s Congress (U.I.C.) received 30 votes.
Speaking to IRIE FM News following the announcement of the preliminary results by the Electoral Office yesterday, Mr. Anderson said while he expected more votes, he understands that several factors can impact election results.
He said he is not daunted by the results.
When probed by IRIE FM News, Mr. Anderson did not rule out the possibility of contesting the general election due next year.
