The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) says that, at the appropriate time, it will provide a status report on the investigations into the fatal shooting incident in Sligoville, St. Catherine, last Friday.
Three men and two police officers were fatally shot in the gun battle.
Following the incident, INDECOM said it was undertaking extensive investigative enquiries.
According to the Commission, 10 people, including police officers and civilians, were wounded in the incident. Two children were among the wounded.
A video has been circulating in recent days, reportedly of the incident from inside the house.
This has led to several questions about the series of events which led to the death of the two officers and the three men.
Commissioner of INDECOM, Hugh Faulkner, says the Commission is attending to multiple aspects of the investigation, which he says has to be thorough and complete.
He explains that the matter is of high public interest and is deserving of a full and comprehensive report, adding that an update will be provided to the public at an appropriate time.
