5 men were fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with police in Jacks Hill, St. Andrew, this afternoon.

The names of the deceased have not been released.

Assistant Commissioner of the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) Hamish Campbell told IRIE FM News that the incident occurred shortly before 1pm.

He said police reported that four firearms were seized.

184 people have been fatally shot by members of the security forces since the start of the year.
