INDECOM probes third triple fatal shooting incident involving police since start of the year

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the third triple fatal shooting incident involving the police since the start of the year.

According to INDECOM, its officers were informed of a triple fatal shooting incident in St Toolis Manchester today.

The names of the deceased have not been released.

Head of the Manchester police Superintendent Carey Duncan said the men engaged the police in an armed confrontation.

He said two firearms were seized.

In the meantime, Senior Public Relations Officer at INDECOM Denyelle Anderson said the deaths today increase to 11, the number of persons who have died in alleged police confrontations since the start of the year.

On New Year’s Day 6 people died in alleged confrontations with the police.

The first incident took place in Granville St James in which three persons died including a four year old child.

And hours later another three persons died in an alleged confrontation with lawmen in Westmoreland.
