INDECOM now has family liaison officers who provide psychosocial support to families of individuals killed by an agent of the state
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) now has family liaison officers who provide psychosocial support to families of individuals who lose their lives due to the actions of an agent of the state.
INDECOM Commissioner Hugh Faulkner made the disclosure at a Jamaicans for Justice public forum on body-worn cameras yesterday.
Mr. Faulkner said that while other members of the team are collecting ballistics evidence, this unit provides emotional support to the family of the deceased.
He added that once a life is lost, the public, the family, and the justice system are each entitled to a record of what happened.
