INDECOM identifies five men fatally shot by security forces in four separate incidents yesterday
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM ) has identified the five men who were fatally shot by members of the security forces in four separate incidents yesterday.
They have been identified as: Ricardo Gayle, 25-year-old Paul Francis, 27-year-old Omar hooke, 42-year-old Justin Bondfield and 39-year-old Peter Gooden.
INDECOM says the deaths push the number of people killed by the security forces since the start of the year to 113 compared to 106 over the same period in 2025.
In a statement, INDECOM says the four incidents included one double fatal shooting and three single fatal shootings, representing the seventh multiple fatal shooting incident investigated by the Commission for the month of April.
The Commission further reports that the incidents which occurred in August Town and at the May Pen Town Centre involved men with mental health issues.
It says two firearms and a knife were reportedly recovered by the police from the scenes.
However, INDECOM notes that the police reported that no body-worn camera was used by the officers involved in any of the fatal shootings.
The Commission says all scenes were examined and evidential material recovered, processed and packaged, while the hands of the deceased were swabbed for gunshot residue and their bodies photographed and sealed pending post-mortem examination.
INDECOM says the concerned officers have been served with Section 21 notices to submit statements and attend interviews.
The Commission is also encouraging members of the public to share any information including photos or videos as investigations continue.
