A cold front is projected to stall just north of the central Caribbean by Tuesday and is forecast to remain across the region for the remainder of the week.
The cold front will induce a trough which is expected to generate unstable weather conditions across most northern parishes during this period.
Consequently, the forecast is for cloudy conditions with periods of showers and thunderstorms, which may be heavy at times, to affect sections of northern parishes especially north-eastern parishes beginning Tuesday morning and continuing for the remainder of the week.
Strong winds are also forecast primarily across northern parishes during this time.
Fishers on the cays and banks, especially those on the north coast, are urged to exercise extreme caution as sea conditions will deteriorate in the vicinity of showers, thunderstorms, and strong winds.
The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor this system.
