In-form Mount Pleasant extends winning streak in JPL with 3-2 win over Racing United
The in-form Mount Pleasant extended their winning streak to 8 consecutive matches in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier league, with 3-2 win over Racing United on Monday to close out the action on match day 17.
Mount Pleasant went in-front through first half goals by Shaqueil Bradford in the 8th minute and Raheem Edwards in the 40th.
However, they were reduced to 10 players a minute after the half time break when when defender Gadail Irving was red carded .
Bradford struck his second in minute 67, before racing responded through Tajay Grant and Stevaughn Spence.
Mount Pleasant coach Theodore Whitmore says despite being reduced to 10 players and the fightback from Racing United it is the “win” that counts.
In the night’s other game Arnett Gardens jumped into second place with 37 points , thanks to a one nil win over the visiting Mobay United courtesy of a 7th minute strike from Joel Jones.
Mobay United now slips to third remaining on 34 points.
