The International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to announce the top men’s and women’s cricketers of 2024 over the next five days, with the first set of announcements scheduled for January 24 and 25 (Friday and Saturday).

The announcements will begin with the unveiling of the five premier ICC teams of the year, celebrating the standout XIs across men’s cricket in Tests, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and T20 Internationals, as well as women’s cricket in ODIs and T20 Internationals. These teams will be selected by the ICC Voting Academy, recognizing the finest talents from the past year.

West Indies players Shamar Joseph and Sherfane Rutherford are set to feature in the individual categories, with both players earning nominations for major awards. The first announcement of the weekend will take place on Saturday, with the ICC Men’s and Women’s T20 International Cricketer of the Year set to be revealed.

Shamar Joseph has earned a place on the shortlist for the ICC Emerging Player of the Year, which will be announced on Sunday, January 28. Meanwhile, Sherfane Rutherford, who has impressed with his performances in limited-overs cricket, is nominated for ICC One-Day International Cricketer of the Year, with the winner to be announced on Monday, January 29.

Among the nominees are stars who lit the global stage with their breathtaking performances including Melie Kerr, Jasprit Bumrah, Laura Wolvaardt, Travis Head, Joe Root and Chamari Athapaththu.
