“I do not train my police to lose”- Commissioner Dr. Blake doubles down on warning to criminals who confront lawmen
“I do not train my police to lose.”
That is the declaration from Police Commissioner, Dr. Kevin Blake as he amplified his warning to criminals who choose to engage lawmen in gun battle.
This recent caution comes amidst criticism from human rights lobby group, Jamaicans for Justice over the number of people shot and killed by the police so far this year.
According to the lobby group, 50 people have been fatally shot by members of the security forces.
This is 31 more than what was recorded in the corresponding period last year.
Addressing the matter in a video statement yesterday, the Commissioner noted that while he supports the call that the figure is too high, lawmen will continue to apply their training if confronted by criminals.
