Hydel five peats, Edwin repeats at Penns
Hydel High secured an historic five straight victories in the 4×400 meters while Edwin Allen defended their 4×100 meters crown on an outstanding second day for Jamaican athletes, the 130th running of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.

Hydel romped to a fifth straight 4×400 meters title as Nastassia Fletcher led them to a storming win to wind down her Penn Relays career in style.
The team of Sashashunta Hemmings, Sashana Johnson, Aallyia Mullings, and Fletcher on anchor reeled in a solid Edwin Allen team to take the win in 3 minutes 32.85 seconds, the third fastest time ever, all three leading times belonging to Hydel, and Fletcher being a part of four straight victories.
Edwill Allen ran their fastest time ever to finish runner-up in 3 minutes 33.24.
Hydel’s coach, Cory Bennett, says it was all about working with a strategy.

Earlier, Edwin Allen defended their 4×100 meters title with the fifth fastest time in Penn history in 44.13 seconds – the quartet of Moesha Gayle, Allexe Henry, Kelly Ann Carr, and Renecia Edwards held off a good initial challenge from St Jago, who ran 45.08 seconds.
