Humble Lion fight back with impressive 3-1 victory over Cavalier in bid to avoid relegation

Humble Lion are making a determined push to avoid relegation and secure another season of top-flight football in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League after a commanding 3-1 victory over defending champions Cavalier in a rescheduled mid-week encounter on Thursday.

The game, played at the Effortville Community Centre, saw Humble Lion deliver a clinical performance with goals from Ricardo Campbell, Jamari Morrison, and Richard Ramsey. Campbell broke the deadlock in the 17th minute, giving his team the early advantage. Just before the halftime whistle, Morrison doubled their lead in the 40th minute, and Ramsey struck right on the brink of halftime in the 45th minute to give Humble Lion a comfortable 3-0 lead going into the break.

The result marked their second win in their last four outings, a crucial victory that saw them climb out of the relegation zone on goal difference, moving ahead of Molynes United. Both teams, along with Harbour View, now sit tied on 28 points in a tense three-way battle for survival. Despite the defeat, Cavalier remains in 5th place with 48 points, with their lone consolation goal coming from Jalmaro Calvin in the 67th minute.

Mount Pleasant lead the table with 68 points from 29 games with Arnett Gardens 3 points behind in second having place extra matches, followed by Montego Bay United (64) and Portmore United (53).
