Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the time has come for a global war on gangs.

He made the statement today at the National Security Council Seminar.

According to the prime minister, global bodies must come together to tackle the negative impact of gangs on societies.

He said the gang problems must be met with the similar force as global terrorism.

He said if Jamaica is to solve the problem with gangs it must deal with the guns coming into the country.

Mr. Holness believes this can be done through global cooperation.
