Holness says several major NWC projects are expected to be completed this year
Several major National Water Commission projects are expected to be completed this year, improving water supply to thousands of residents.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness said the works were being financed by the NWC which he stated has improved its management significantly.
He commended the water company for being good stewards of public resources, enabling the company to make the investments in these projects.
Mr. Holness said the projects to be completed this year are in St. Andrew and St. Ann.
Other projects are being developed across several parishes.
Mr. Holness said these include the $600 million St. Mary water supply project, which will benefit residents in the eastern section of the parish, as well as the Stanton Water Project in St. Thomas valued at $550 million.
He was speaking at the commissioning of the Port Royal Pipeline Replacement Project on Tuesday.
