Jamaica Labour Party Leader, Dr. Andrew Holness has noted that the new government secured by yesterday’s election presents an opportunity for renewal.

Dr. Holness, while expressing appreciation to the electorate for the victory, acknowledged that there is more work to be done.

At the end of the election, the JLP won 34 seats over the People’s National Party’s 29.

Dr. Holness said this third term in government means putting in the work to meet the needs of constituents.

He noted that a government performing on merit is seemingly a threat to democracy.
